Guidelines for using AgriGator®
Here are a few things to keep in mind when using AgriGator® Soil Stabilizer that will help to ensure its greatest potential for acheiving desired results:
- AgriGator® is water-based, water-run material.
- It is applied using "chemigation" practices and is compatible with all methods of irrigation.
- AgriGator® goes where the water goes.
- Keeping this in mind, you can be very precise in treating soil. The desired depth of the treatment can be reached by controlling the amount of water used to apply the stabilizer. The questions to be asked are: "How deep do you want to treat your soil?" and "How long will you need to run your water to get it to that depth?"
- AgriGator® is effective when a uniform concentration is maintained in the water throughout irrigation.
- The recommended concentration will be determined by soil analysis, which will look primarily at the clay content of the soil. Generally speaking, the more clay in a given soil, the more AgriGator® is need to stabilize it. Sandy soils need less material than heavier clay soils. Consistent, uniform application of AgriGator® is essential to optimum results.
- AgriGator® needs some time to "cure" after application.
- A certain amount of drying is necessary for the material to acheive a strong bond with the soil. Usually 8 to 12 hours is sufficient, though longer is always better. The material will set more quickly in sandy soils than in clay soils. AgriGator® will remain stable in the soil until the bonds are broken mechanically by major tillage. For this reason, only one application is needed per crop cycle.
